It's been a busy summer, and I have two exciting pieces of news to share.
Firstly I have a name change to announce. From now on my music will be billed as "Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds." Following in the footsteps of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, I wanted the guys who play with me to be just as important to my image and sound. Why Silverbirds you ask? I think it gives off a rock and roll image, simple as that.
Secondly, and this is the biggest news to share, I will be entering the studio to record a new song in September, and I will be getting help from a legendary musician. Kenny Aronoff, one of the top 100 drummers of all time according to Rolling Stone, will be playing on my next single. If you're unfamiliar with Kenny, he was the longtime drummer for John Mellencamp, playing on smash hits such as "Hurts So Good," "Jack and Diane," and "Pink Houses." He's performed and recorded with names such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Sting, John Fogerty, and countless others. Getting him onboard is such an amazing moment, and I can't wait to get started on this single.
Also, my first EP "On Air" is available on CD. Send me a message, either here or on Instagram, and I can get a copy to you. It's had a great response so far and I'm glad people have been liking it. I'm also planning to make it available on streaming services sometime in the near future.
