My newest single Dangerous Lover (Feat. Kenny Aronoff) is now live on all platforms. Make sure to give it a listen, you won't want to miss this song!
My last performance took place in March 2020, right before the world got turned upside down. After almost a two year gap between shows, I am returning to the stage on Friday December 3 at the Blind Beggar Smokehouse in Calgary. A very familiar venue for me, I will be opening the night with an acoustic set playing my own songs, and songs by other people too. If you're in Calgary and want to come, make sure to get some tickets which are available now on my front page.
My next single "Dangerous Lover (feat. Kenny Aronoff)" is releasing on November 22. I'm so happy with how the song turned out, I think it's my best work yet, and I can't wait for you to hear it. We had an all-star cast that helped make this song possible, and it was a true international effort. It's cool to see how despite being thousands of miles apart, we made a record as if we were all together. Here are the credits:
Jackson Reed- Vocals, Guitar, Bass
Jeremy Brigham- Keyboards
Kenny Aronoff- Drums
Pat McAuley- Editing and Mixing
John Seymour- Mastering
Recorded at Heavy Heart Sound, Calgary AB and Uncommon Studios, Los Angeles CA
Mastered at Media 51, Plainfield NJ
Cover Art by Ricardo Garcia
Produced by Jackson Reed and Pat McAuley
Written by Jackson Reed
The song is open for pre-saves and pre-orders, so make sure to check the link out here on my site. See you on November 22!
After first releasing my EP on CD, it has officially launched on all streaming services. "On Air" is a great collection that includes everything I've recorded over the last two years, so if you want to learn about my sound, it's a great place to start.
My next single is also completely finished. It was an incredible experience to work with Kenny Aronoff, and his drums are a huge highlight on this new song. We just had the record mastered by John Seymour, who won a Grammy for his work on "Supernatural" by Santana. Make sure to follow me here and on Social Media for announcements related to this new single.
Thanks for all your support, and make sure to fly with the Silverbirds, we've got good things coming.
It's been a busy summer, and I have two exciting pieces of news to share.
Firstly I have a name change to announce. From now on my music will be billed as "Jackson Reed and The Silverbirds." Following in the footsteps of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, I wanted the guys who play with me to be just as important to my image and sound. Why Silverbirds you ask? I think it gives off a rock and roll image, simple as that.
Secondly, and this is the biggest news to share, I will be entering the studio to record a new song in September, and I will be getting help from a legendary musician. Kenny Aronoff, one of the top 100 drummers of all time according to Rolling Stone, will be playing on my next single. If you're unfamiliar with Kenny, he was the longtime drummer for John Mellencamp, playing on smash hits such as "Hurts So Good," "Jack and Diane," and "Pink Houses." He's performed and recorded with names such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Sting, John Fogerty, and countless others. Getting him onboard is such an amazing moment, and I can't wait to get started on this single.
Also, my first EP "On Air" is available on CD. Send me a message, either here or on Instagram, and I can get a copy to you. It's had a great response so far and I'm glad people have been liking it. I'm also planning to make it available on streaming services sometime in the near future.
